Character History: (Due to time travel and a long series, I'm breaking up the history in several sections to make it easier to understand.)

Early Life as "The Kid"
Jak was born to the Grand House of Mar in Haven City as the son of King Damas. His mother was never mentioned in any of the games, making him one of a few characters to have a father with no apparent mother.

Some time after his birth, Jak's father was betrayed by Baron Praxis and Veger. The politics of the impeachment remain unknown, however it is known that it was amid the Metal Head Wars. Through betrayal and tyranny, Baron Praxis rose to power as the "temporary" ruler of Haven City and banished Damas to the Wasteland.

Veger, the council leader of Haven City, was in a desperate search for the Precursor catacombs in hopes of turning the Planetary Defense grid on to defend the planet from the foreseeable future. Veger hoped to harness Jak's purity to awaken ancient Precursor technology, and managed to kidnap him intermittently before losing him to a new rebel movement coined the Underground, whose sole purpose was to put young Jak back on the throne where he belonged and re-establish the House of Mar as the ruling dynasty of Haven City. Although Veger stated that he lost young Jak to the Underground, the Shadow (the Underground leader) noted that he found him just "wandering the streets," suggesting young Jak may have escaped by his own power.

At some point during these events, an older version of Jak arrived from a different time zone. Soon after being consoled by the Underground, Kor, an elderly member of the Underground, was assigned as the attendant of young Jak and his pet crocadog.

The Shadow originally planned for the young child heir to open the Tomb of Mar and pass the Trials of Manhood to gain the Precursor Stone in order to defeat the Metal Head leader, but the tomb refused to admit the kid on the grounds that he was too young to face the tests. Instead, older Jak forced his way through the door of the tomb in an attempt to retrieve the stone. After older Jak passed the trials, young Jak vanished: Kor kidnapped him so that he could open the Precursor Stone for himself.

Before The Precursor Legacy
Kor would later be revealed to be the Metal Head leader, disguising himself as an Underground member to sabotage Baron Praxis, who made a deal with him that somewhat neutralized the ongoing war activity. Older Jak sent young Jak into the past with the Shadow, in order to protect him from the danger of Kor.

Young Jak would then be raised into his adolescence under the watchful eye of the Shadow (real name being Samos). Jak grew up in Sandover Village alongside fellow villager Daxter, who became a close acquaintance. He also grew up with Samos' daughter Keira Hagai, who became his main love interest. The events of The Precursor Legacy would take place around ten years after this, when Jak was 15 years old.

The Precursor Legacy

Jak's first adventure started with stealing a boatwith his friend, Daxter (who was still in his human form)— and straying about Misty Island; a place that was restricted by their watchover Samos. The two entered a large area where two dark figures were levitating in front of a large group of Lurkers, where they secretly observed them telling their apparent army to kill anyone straying from "the village."

Jak and Daxter then continued searching the island, where they were confronted by a large bone armor lurker shortly after the secret observation. The lurker charged the two when Jak quickly threw an activated dark eco bomb, disposing of the lurker, but inadvertently knocking Daxter into a pool of dark eco. When Daxter came back out, he was in the form of an ottsel.

Jak then returned to Sandover Village to ask Samos for help. The two then discovered that their only hope of changing Daxter back is finding Gol Acheron, the dark eco sage, who lived far to the north of the continent. Jak then began basic combat and athletic training at Geyser Rock, where he got his heroic start collecting power cells and traveling north.

Jak and Daxter, along with Samos and Keira, later found out while at the Red Sage's hut that Gol Acheron and his sister Maia Acheron had been corrupted by the dark eco they were studying and were trying to activate a Precursor robot to assist them in opening a dark eco silo to flood the world with dark eco. Jak then entered their citadel, freed the captive sages and fought the two in their Precursor robot. Near the end of their battle, Jak discovered light eco, when four towers surrounding the silo opened up and the four colored ecos inside combined, which could change Daxter back (theoretically) or defeat Gol and Maia and save the world. He chose to save the world, and after the battle, Jak opened the ancient Precursor door at the top of the citadel, and discovered the rift gate and rift rider behind it, which would start the events of their next adventure.

Before Jak II

Between the end of The Precursor Legacy and the start of Jak II, Jak, Daxter, Keira, and Samos moved the rift rider and rift gate back to Sandover Village from the location of the large Precursor door. The four are seen studying the artifact in the opening cutscene, where Keira discovered that the Rider somehow interacts with the Ring. Jak was left to find out how to activate it, where he pressed the ruby button encased in the Heart of Mar (indicating location), which activated the time map (indicating timezone displacement). This opened the Gate, which inadvertently released the metal heads from an unknown location and caused a swarm of metal heads to attack Sandover Village, starting the second of the two Metal Head Wars.

Jak then managed to activate the Rider and entered the Gate, where they were sent into the future in Haven City. Upon entering the city, Jak was arrested by a patrol of Krimzon Guards headed by their commander, Erol. Daxter escaped (starting the events of the spin-off game Daxter), while Keira somehow became a mechanic in the city, and Samos was arrested and imprisoned (as his equivalent for that timezone was currently the leader of the Underground but called the "Shadow," and was therefore taken into custody in confusion).

Jak would be imprisoned for two years before being rescued by Daxter at the end of Daxter's adventure.

Daxter

Jak only appears four times during Daxter, once at the intro scene where he is captured, once in the cage of a prison zoomer while being moved through the Industrial Section, once when Daxter was flipping through the channels in the Krimzon Guard fortress, and once in the ending sequence when Daxter finished telling the story of how he saved Jak.

Though Jak's appearances are brief, the plot leading up to Jak II concerning Jak's acquisition of dark powers is somewhat significant. During these two years, he was imprisoned and experimented on under the "Dark Warrior Program." He went through multiple experiments and injections, changing his previous personality seen in The Precursor Legacy from a quiet, head-strong boy with an apparent mutism disorder, to a bitter, revenge-stricken adolescent. By the events of Jak II, Jak broke away from his mutism.

Jak II

After being rescued by Daxter and escaping from prison, Jak experienced the first display of his dark alter ego (evinced from past experiments) while defeating a squad of guards in the Slums. He was asked to do so by Kor—who was disguised as a human working for the Underground—in order to protect a "very important" child. After defeating the guards, Kor directed Jak to the Underground, a rebel movement waging war against Baron Praxis; Kor noting that its leader, the Shadow, could use fighters like him (Dark Jak). Kor told Jak to find the hideout in a dead-end alley near the city wall, instructing him to ask for Torn. Upon meeting Torn, Jak was at first rejected. After Jak told the leader that he wished to see the "Shadow," Torn gave him the mission "Retrieve banner from Dead Town", in which Jak succeeded; starting initiation missions for membership to the Underground.

From then on, Jak worked with a variety of new characters including Krew, a local smuggler and gang-lord, who had apparent connections with the Underground, as well as Onin, a blind soothsayer who knew of Jak's arrival from the past, and was also able to foresee his future. Others included Brutter, Kor, Vin, and Sig. Jak later discovered that the strange new world which they were making their way through was actually in the future, and that Haven City was built around Sandover Village, which was now known as Dead Town.

Later in the game, Jak met the Shadow, and discovered it was actually younger Samos. He found Keira and older Samos as well, and upon defeating Kor (who revealed himself to be the Metal Head leader), sent his younger self (the "very important" child) back into the past with the Shadow to grow up safely in Sandover Village, thus repeating the time loop.

Jak 3

Shortly after the events of Jak II, war broke out on the streets of Haven City, as new Krimzon Death Bots took over a vital section of the industrial area of Haven, and a large group of stronger Metal Heads that survived the death of their leader concentrated in the gardens sector of the city (at that point renamed Metal Head city). Veger saw this as an opportunity to rid Haven City of Jak, and therefore found him guilty in association with Krew, who compromised Haven City's security which they thought let the metal heads into the city. Veger, on behalf of the Grand Council of Haven City, banished Jak to the Wasteland for life. Distraught, only accompanied by Pecker and Daxter, Jak began looking for salvation in the midst of the desert. He eventually fainted in exhaustion, and having the beacon given to him by Ashelin just before their departure, was found by a king of Spargus, named Damas.

Jak, along with Daxter and Pecker, were taken into Damas' sanctum where they were bathed and Jak's clothing was reduced and his hair cut. Jak nearly died, as Damas noted he was preparing to have his monks pray for him. Jak fought in arena matches to prove himself worthy of keeping, where he eventually earned citizenship to Spargus, and became an official "wastelander." During this process he met Sig again, an ally from Jak II, in the Arena of Death, where they were ordered to kill each other under arena rules, though they both withheld the task and were forced to prove their worth to Spargus another way.

Later, Jak was invited back to Haven City by Ashelin. Though he initially refused, he returned to fight in the War for Haven City. Before entering Haven City however, Jak had an encounter with Count Veger, who activated a Precursor robot, although Jak managed to defeat it. Later, after reuniting with Torn, Cyber Errol was revealed to be the leader of the KG Death Bots as well as the surviving Metal Heads, however the greater threat was from the incoming Dark Maker ship, which Errol sought to control in order to destroy the planet.

In order to destroy the ship, Jak needed to activate the Planetary Defense System by accessing the catacombs near the ruins of the Mar Memorial Stadium. Damas answered Jak's call for help, but was crushed under their vehicle when a blast overturned it, inadvertently revealing that Damas was Jak's father in the final moments of his life. Jak continued through the catacombs, activating the Planetary Defense System and traveled to the Dark Maker's ship to stop Cyber Errol, who escaped in a terraformer before the ship was destroyed. Returning to the Wasteland, Jak defeated Errol and his terraformer. The Precursors, revealed to be ottsels, asked him to come with them to protect the universe. He declined the offer due to the inseparable nature between Jak and Daxter similarly witnessed in the opening cutscene in the beginning of the game (when Daxter stayed behind with Jak in the Wasteland). It is also revealed that Jak's birth name was in fact Mar leaving many fans to speculate on whether Jak is the actual "Mar" who built Haven City, or if he is just of the same lineage and named after the famous figure.

Jak X: Combat Racing
About one year after the events of Jak 3, Haven City had been completely rebuilt and skinned to better suit the now massively popular sport known as combat racing. With the war finished, Jak, Daxter, Keira, Torn, and Ashelin traveled to Kras City to attend the reading of the will of the late crime lord, Krew. The drinks with which they used to toast to his honor were poisoned.

Along with the rest of his friends and Rayn, Krew's daughter, Jak is forced to race in the Kras City Grand Championship in order to win the antidote. When he finally triumphed in the final race, the antidote was stolen by Mizo (who turned out to be the alter-ego of G.T. Blitz, the race "commentator"), forcing him to chase and defeat the crime lord to retrieve it. When Jak defeated Mizo they found out that Rayn had not been poisoned and that they were all part of a large scheme, and Rayn had betrayed the whole group, taking after her father, Krew. Ultimately Rayn escaped but Jak, Daxter, Keira, Torn, and Ashelin were cured.

Character Personality: Jak has progressed as a person quite a lot through his adventures. From a young boy to the young man he is today, Jak changed a lot. Originally a light hearted boy eager for adventure and to do the right thing, Jak still reflects the heroic nature of his old younger self but with the scars that come with all of the experiences he has had to live through. His demeanor has overall become darker but he still has that risk taking and reckless nature. Not to mention a knack for jumping head first into dangerous situations.

Jak's rough and dark demeanor comes from several sources. One of the major reasons was the exposure to Dark Eco during the two years of the Dark Warrior Project. Though in truth, the entire experience of being experimented on during those two years and enduring the abuses of Baron Praxis and Erol took their toll. The young man he had been changed into a much more angry and vengeful man. This rage became a driving force behind Jak's actions for quite a while and still holds sway on his actions.

Jak has always been a hero, though for a time he had given up the pursuit of justice in exchange for the pursuit of revenge on Praxis. After Praxis was dead, however, Jak did realize his greater role in everything and did what he could to save Haven. He was still the hero at heart, though has been shown to be able to lose sight of it. Being betrayed by his friends and Haven City, he turned his back on that side of him for a time. However, he came back to being a hero.

Despite the ups and downs, Jak is still thrill seeking and adventurous. He jumps at almost any opening to go on an adventure or explore something new. He loves to race as well and isn't against betting things like his best friend on the results of said race. It is a passion of his and one he still loves with the fervor the had when he was younger. It is one of the few things that remains the same as it did back when he was growing up in Sandover. It goes to show that despite everything, some of the old Jak is still inside him. It just comes with a short temper and new vulgar words attached.

Jak may be an experienced hero, but social skills and picking up on social cues is something he isn't that skilled in. This may be due to the years of experiments as well as being mostly silent in his childhood. Whatever the case, he often misses the most obvious of things when it comes to talking to people or interacting with others: especially women. Keira's flirting cues and her jealous behavior over Ashlyn go over Jak's head as he sees it more as Keira simply being random or moody. This lack of social cues also showed in his dealings with Krew. Jak wasn't afraid of mouthing off to Krew or demanding answers from a man who could easily have him killed. Being subtle and recognizing subtly is not something Jak does well.

The hero also has come to terms with an important part of being a hero: people dying. Despite Jak's drive to save people and to be the hero, he knows saving everyone isn't possible. Though he has killed before and isn't afraid to, he has also left a sizable number of people to die. As he has said to Mizo, he has gotten used to it. This shows he is used to death at this point and it doesn't really shock him much anymore. That isn't to say the death of someone close couldn't shake him but if it comes down to do it, Jak would pull the trigger to end another's life; or leave them to die should they be an enemy.

Overall, Jak has transformed into an almost anti-hero. He does things his way but he still has a sense of morality. He just doesn't care much for collateral damage and isn't afraid or against letting people die or doing them in himself if he feels they deserve it. He stands up for what he thinks and believes and isn't one to back down from any fight, race, or challenge. The man is almost a one man army, and with Daxter, the Demolition Duo kick ass and take names.

Powers and Abilities: I'll be splitting up Jak's abilities into his abilities as Jak, Dark Jak, and Light Jak, due to the fact he is able to transform into alternate versions of himself.

Jak's Abilities Jak is a skilled hero in his own right. Jak is able to jump long distances as well as impressive heights. He is able to hold his own in a fight either with; Hand-to-hand combat, using Eco for battle, using his signature morph gun, or a mixture of all three. He is a skilled shot with a gun as well after he took to using it rather naturally. He is also able to use a wide assortment of guns due to the Morphgun's ability to handle different ammo and shift accordingly.

Jak also has the ability to absorb and use Eco. By absorbing different kinds of Eco, Jak could do different things. Blue allowed him to move faster, Red made him stronger, and he could fire yellow eco in blasts to destroy enemies from a distance.

Jak is also a skilled driver, almost no matter the vehicle. He easily learned to drive Zoomers (flying cars and motorcycles) in Sandover and later Haven City and learned to outrace even the top Zoomer racers. In the Wasteland, he learned to drive an assortment of vehicles, which helped to improve his skills in racing in the Kras City World Championship. He is also skilled at riding animals as well as shown with his ability to ride a newborn Flut Flut bird. Another skill Jak has is with his hoverboard. He is skilled with pulling off tricks as well as racing quickly on the hoverboard.

Another interesting ability of Jak's is his animal magnetism. He is able to approach and tame wild animals or more aggressive ones; such as his pet crocadog. He's just good with animals.

Dark Jak When Jak morphs into Dark Jak, he changes substantially. He grows horns, his nails become claws, his strength increases, and his hair and skin become grey. His eyes turn completely black as well, giving him a monstrous appearance. Dark Jak doesn't speak any actual words; he only growls and snarls at others. Along with increased fighting strength and claws, Jak has a number of additional powers.

Dark Blast: Dark Jak leaps into the air and rapidly spins around. Bolts of Dark Eco energy spray out from Dark Jak's spinning form and strike at enemies, allies, and vehicles within range. After using this ability, Dark Jak reverts back to his normal form.

Dark Bomb: Dark Jak is able to jump into the air and punch the ground. Doing so unleashes all of the Dark Eco energy inside of him in a circular wave from himself. After using this attack, Dark Jak instantly reverts back to his normal form.

Dark Strike: Dark Jak channels Dark Eco energy into a solid ball before unleashing it forward. The blast is strong enough to destroy damaged walls and clear away heavy obsticles. Unlike the other two abilities, Dark Jak does not instantly revert after using the Dark Strike.

Dark Invisibility: Dark Jak, with the help of Precuror Statues, can turn almost invisible. Dark Jak still casts a shadow and can be seen if one knows what to look for. Energy attacks can still hit Dark Jak while he is in this form but physical attacks pass right through him. He cannot go through any surfaces in this form, however. He has to use the door.

Light Jak In Light Jak form, Jak becomes a being of pure blue and white light. Light Jak doesn't talk at all and doesn't even make noise when taking damage. He can still use his Morphgun in this form, unlike in Dark Jak form.

Flash Freeze: Light Jak moves down to one knee and claps his hands, sending out a wave of Light Eco. Doing so turns everything a bluish tint to Light Jak and everything in the area seems to slow down. It is also possible Light Jak is speeding up his own speed as Light Eco can be created by merging Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green Eco. It could be Light Eco tapping into the speed increasing properties of Blue Eco. Either way, it is an effective trick to use to get by fast moving blades and for Light Jak to turn the tide of battle in his favor by slowing down his enemies movements while letting him move as he normally does.

Light Flight: Light Jak also gains wings. Though the wings aren't big enough to let him fly but he can glide across some decent distances.

Light Regeneration: Light Jak summons a beam of light from above and floats into the air. As he bathes in the light, his injuries heal. The amount of damage healed depends on the amount of Light Eco Light Jak has access to.

Light Shield: Light Jak summons a sphere of Light Eco around himself. Light Jak's shield blocks attacks at the cost of stability. If he rams someone with the shield it does some damage but not much. Being in the shield can allow Light Jak to pass through electrical gates without suffering damage.

[Jak starts the video what looks like the Eastern District. The light sound of waves can be heard but he isn't on the beach. He's close though. Looks like he's found an empty spot in the city. Lucky him, right?]

Daxter and I had an idea. A lot of people are worried about people being too dependant on Bending for things. I get that. If it ever gets turned off or something happens to Nautilus, we're screwed. Here's our solution. We want to Bend up some Eco sources here in the city. Something permanent. Daxter being what he is, we think we can pull it off. Eco can be used for all sorts of things; mostly power and weapons. If we have a constant source, we can power buildings and have some left over for ammo. We can make some good weapons with these. Stuff we can use to defend the city without Bending.

I'm thinking the Welcome Houses should be hooked up to the grid, same with the Medbay and maybe a few other locations. I'm up for suggestion. Help would be nice too. Weapon designers, engineers, that sort of thing. Dax and I are good but we're not experts.

That's about it. [Jak reaches out and ends the connection.]

Third Person:

Jak was a hero. He was a hero who saved the world. He saved people. He was supposed to find a solution and save the day. He did it over and over again before in the past. He was able to stop Gol and Maia, he had stopped the Baron and Kor, he stopped Veger and the Dark Makers, and he stopped Mizo. All of them couldn't stop him. Sure, they suffered at their hands and they caused them setbacks. Every one of them had been an adventure to stop but he was able to win. He was able to beat them and save everyone in the end. He was the hero. He was Mar.

Despite it all, here he was, lying with rocks on his legs and a bar through his side. He could feel himself growing cold. He was bleeding out slowly. It was staining his clothes and made him feel sticky. He looked down at the bar again as it was covered in his blood. He closed his eyes and let out a slow breath. It hurt to breathe. It hurt to try moving. He'd made sure Dax had gotten out okay. His friends would take care of Daxter for now. He knew Dax could take care of himself, but he'd never died before. Death was something Jak had thought about a lot, but until being poisoned by Krew, he hadn't thought about his own death a lot. During the Kras City Championships, death was around every corner. He could have died at any moment or by the poison. He didn't. He was able to survive.

He couldn't survive this. Jak wasn't getting out of this. This was it. He'd tried to save the day and he had helped. Problem was, that bastard wasn't going down without taking someone with him. One explosion later, here he was. Jak could taste copper. Blood leaked out of the corner of his mouth. The pain was vanishing now. He was going numb. At least it wasn't going to hurt in the end. He should be scared, Jak knew that. Some part of him might have been but oddly enough he felt at peace. He'd done what he was supposed to. Even if he was going to die for it. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Would he see Damas again? Was that how this worked or was everything going to go black? He'd find out soon. Jak's vision was going dark around the edges. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the rubble behind him.

"...One...last...adventure." Jak mumbled to himself as he let out one last breathe.

3Step Communicator: The Symbol of Mar, capable of Holographic messages and Audio discussions. Texts appear as holograms and he can respond with text by speaking to send messages.

Sample Network Post: [Audio]

This is insane. Okay, can someone clear something up for me? Anyone here know something in their world that is them but not? Like, seriously. And if Daxter talked to you guys to about bulling a prank on me. Someone tell me. Now. I'm not in the mood for this. If I find out this is a prank, everyone involved is going to be sorry. This is giving me a headache.

...Thank.

Sample RP: This was insane. Nothing about any of this made sense. Jak pressed his back to the old wooden door and could feel the body on the other side of it slam into it again and again. He held his Scattergun to his chest. He pressed his feet more into the floor, trying to keep himself in place. It was all he could do to keep the damn things outside of this place.

Zombies. Who knew zombies were a real thing? Apparently not Jak. He growled as he felt the door thud again. He closed his eyes and tried to calm down. If he transformed now, it would only be bad. Even with his Dark Eco powers he couldn't take on all of those zombies. He'd just tear them apart and get torn apart himself. The wood splintered and his eyes snapped open. A hand burst through the wood next to his head as he hand went to grab him. He ducked and dove away from the door.

The wood exploded finally. The zombies moved to pour inside. Jak turned and fired, red eco energy blasting the zombies back. He cocked the gun and moved toward the door and fired again. If he could knock enough of them down, maybe it would buy everyone else in the room enough to time find another secure location. He fired again and again, using up his ammo.

He was about to fire again when he stopped and stared. Something orange had caught his sight. A small orange ottsel zombie. He stepped back. It couldn't be...but it was. Daxter was a zombie. He knew he should pull the trigger. The zombies were coming into the room but he couldn't take his eyes off of the ottsel.

"Daxter?"
